"Blossom in Salt Shaker is another experiment with direct and simple painting. I enjoy the challenge of painting flowers because they change so fast. Here I have attempted to capture the lightness and freshness of the blossom in a single layer of paint. I believe using a reduced palette draws attention towards the subtle shift of colour, between the purple grey and the various greens, and the creamy whites of the unpainted, oil primed linen canvas."
