"These boots are Fry peewee cowboy boots from the US, probably made in the 1940s or '50s. I have a collection of boots of different sorts, and these may be my favourites. I'm fascinated by how boots and shoes can last for decades or centuries, and remain in use and gathering all the marks and creases of generations of owners. 

Of course for the art history nerds out there, these boots are also an answer (of sorts) to Van Gogh's famous shoes, and to the philosophical essays that have claimed, reclaimed or disowned them."
